So right now Im waiting for Kate to get done class so I figured I would post a little update. I got back 3 homework assignments I did in my one class and I got a very good on 2 of them and an 8 out of 10 on my essay that I wrote. They all have to be in Spanish keep in mind so I am absolutely thrilled!!! Next tuesday, my class is going to Mexico City to an art museum for the day. A little bit of bad news. I went to the doctor at the University today because I was feeling really sick and couldnt eat and it turns out I have a stomach infection. However, its very common among international students because we are not used to the food here so he gave me medicine and I am already feeling better!!! Im going to stay away from tacos and spicy foods for awhile because I think thats what did it even though I love spicy food. Soo dont worry about me im hanging in there. My Spanish is much much better. I have almost completely eliminated English when I speak with people which is good.
One think that I want to add that I noticed here that is very different from the United States is that the students greet their teachers with a friendly kiss on the cheek like the Europeans do. I think that is interesting because you really dont see that in the United States. Also, when students are late to class, they ask for permission to enter from the teacher before they come in. I havent seen a teacher say No yet but its so much more respectable than in the United States where students just walk into class late while the teacher is lecturing.
Well thats it for now. Let me know if you want to know anything else by leaving a comment. I will put up more pictures after this weekend because Im going away to Cuetzalan for the weekend. Keep warm everyone!!!
