Puerto Escondito
So for some reason that I'm still not sure of, all of Mexico had off on Monday and since we don't have classes on Fridays, we decided to go to the beach for the long weekend. We (myself, Kate, Nishi, Danielle, Nicole) took the bus to Puerto Escondito, a famous surf destination for surfers from around the world. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the weather could not have been more perfect. We met people from Italy, Germany, US, Australia, Argentina etc.....We spent 4 days there and stayed in a hotel for 3 nights for only $10/night. On Sunday, we got to watch the Superbowl at a resturant on the beach. It was funny because there was another group of older people there and the only girl is from Philadelphia too. We were all cheering for the Giants but there were some Patriots fans there as well. On Sunday night, the town had a celebration for Carnival, which is taking place all over the world. They just had performers and dancers and we sat on the beach and watched and ate some food. We got to go in the ocean for the most part but we couldn't go very far because the waves are really high since it's great for surfers but it was still very pleasant. I definitely suggest taking a trip there! We woke up early on the last day just to watch the surfers because the waves are supposed to be the best in the morning. We watched the sunset everynight as we ate dinner at a resturant on the beach. The west coast probably hast the most amazing sunsets Ive ever seen. I miss everyone so much and I hope you all are bearing the cold. The offer still stands to come visit me whenever :-) Tomorrow we are watching the US v Mexico socccer game!!
