Great Week
Last week we had off for Semana Santa, the entire week leading up to Easter. Four of Kate´s friends from her school came down to visit. They got here late Thursday night so Friday and Saturday we showed them around Puebla and Cholula. Our bus was at 3:45 PM on Saturday to Oaxaca city and then we got on another bus at 10:30 PM overnight to Puerto Escondido. Once we got to Puerto Escondido, we drove an hour to Puerto Angel, where we stayed in a really nice hotel on the beach for 2 nights. One morning we woke up at 5:30 AM to go on a fishing trip and snorkeling. Kate slept the entire time but the rest of us watched the sunrise and jumped in the water to snorkel. I didnt stay in for long because I was scared of the jelly fish but the water was really nice, not too cold. On Tuesday, we went back to Puerto Escondido just for the day and then took another overnight bus to Acapulco. We arrived in Acapulco around 7:00 AM on Wednesday. The hotel that Kate originally booked was really far from everything and not really nice but all of Acapulco was completely full. Luckily our taxi driver helped us find a hotel right on the beach for a reasonable price not too far from everything. We stayed there until Sunday. Acapulco had a lot of people but I didnt mind so much. Our hotel had a pool and a private beach and we got to see all the places we went to on our Spring Break last year. We also got to see our friends who are from Acapulco but study in Puebla with us. I got a ride back to Puebla with them on Sunday. Overall, it was an exciting week and we were all happy to spend time with other people. This weekend I am going to my friends cousins wedding in Cuernavaca with Kate and Nishi. Kates parents are coming the week of April 5th so I will be sending back some stuff with them (aka my winter coat that I had no use for). My birthday is in less than 2 weeks, very excited for that!!! I miss everyone and I hope everyone had a good spring break. I sent out about 7 more postcards yesterday so keep a look out if you havent received one already!!!

Semana Santa
So next week begins Semana Santa (Spring Break) and 4 of Kate's friends from school are coming on Thursday for the week since they have the same spring break. The 4 of them, me, Kate, Nishi, Nicole, and Danielle will all be traveling together. The plan is to spend one day and one night in Oaxaca City and then travel up the Oaxacan coast to about 4 or 5 beaches and end up in Acapulco for 4 days and return on Sunday night just in time for class Monday morning. My 21st birthday is coming up soon and I am very excited!!!! Even though nobody here cares that I'm turning 21 because 18 is the age you can start going to the bars. Tomorrow, I am going to my first Puebla Soccer game with my friend David from Argentina and his friend. The girls here really aren't into sports so I asked them to take me. Puebla is not a very popular team so in a couple weeks I am so going to go to Mexico City to an America game (2nd most popular team in all of Mexico). I hope the weather is getting better and I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. After Semana Santa, I will be sending out more postcards so keep a look out. It will take about 3 weeks to arrive though because the mail here is terrible! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LISA!!!!!

Update
This past weekend I didn't travel anywhere because I'm trying to save my money for Semana Santa (Spring Break) in two weeks. Mom, I know you will be happy to hear that I am being very conscious of how I spend my money (aka walking to school and coming home to eat). My classes are going well. I had another test last week which went well and I've been writing a lot of papers for my other class so I'm keeping busy. I started doing research for my Honors Thesis and I'm reading Go Ask Alice in Spanish during my free time. My host brother left to study abroad in Chile last week so it's just me, my host mom, my host dad, and Lupe our maid. I think I might be going to Taxco this weekend with some other exchange students. It's only 3 hours away and I heard it is beautiful. I miss everyone and I hope the weather is getting better back home.
